Activated carbon, also known as activated charcoal, is often used to remove odours. It is a porous form of carbon that has been specially treated to have a large internal surface area, which improves its ability to adsorb odours. These are the benefits of activated carbon for odour removal:

Adsorption: activated carbon adsorbs odours by trapping molecules of gases and vapours in its pores. This happens due to the large inner surface of the activated carbon, which attracts the molecules and makes them adhere to its surface.
Porous structure: The porous structure of activated carbon provides a large surface area. The larger the surface area, the more odorous substances can be adsorbed.
Wide range of applications: Due to its odour-binding properties, activated carbon filters are used in a variety of applications, including air purifiers, water filters, wastewater treatment plants and landfills, and of course in cat litter.

The dragging of cat litter in the fur and on the cat's paws, known as tracking, is a problem that occurs with many cat litters. Light litter in particular can quickly get caught in long fur and be carried out of the litter tray. If the litter later comes loose from the fur, this leads to soiled floors. Especially for households with long-haired cats and several cats, it can become a never-ending task to remove litter from floors.
Due to the special structure and slightly higher weight of Professional Classic Carbon, fewer litter particles get caught on the cat's fur and paws. Particles usually fall straight back into the litter tray, preventing tracking directly into the litter tray.

Professional Classic Active Carbon is an absolute top product, not only in terms of odour absorption, but also in its ability to absorb liquid. Liquid is bound in solid clumps which, when used properly, prevents the unwanted seepage of urine onto the floor of the litter tray. The clumps formed are strong and unbreakable and can be easily removed with the litter scoop.

In addition to its outstanding clumping properties and excellent odour absorption, Premium Bentonite Litter Professional Classic Carbon is characterised by its convenient and economical use. Firm clumps that are easy to remove ensure that the litter can be used sparingly by only removing the clumps each day. Surrounding litter simply remains in the litter tray. This makes the premium litter particularly economical. 14 litres of Professional Classic Carbon are roughly as economical as 50 litres of conventional clumping litter.
